    Lab with Tektronix equipment

    Tektronix, Inc., the world's leading manufacturer of oscilloscopes, made a substantial donation of test and measurement equipment to WSU Vancouver last Thursday. The equipment, including arbitrary/function generations, a real-time spectrum analyzer, digital phosphor and mixed signal oscilloscopes, Keithley’s semiconductor parameter analyzers, and Fluke’s True-rms multimeters will be used to outfit laboratories and classrooms in the Engineering and Computer Science building. The Tektronix equipment represents a $342,000 gift to the university. Thank you, Tektronix!

    FacebookUniversity executive administrators have approved the following policy for inclusion in the Executive Policy Manual: Electronic Communication Policy EP4

    This revision includes the following changes:

    • Adds policy requirements regarding use of social media and related online communications.
    • Adds an applicability statement regarding unofficial computer use by employees.
    • Updates policies regarding dissemination of portal announcements and notices.
    • The Vice President for Information Services provides advance approval for non-University promotional messages or advertising through University venues.

    Brian Doyle is an award-winning novelist, essayist and editor of the University of Portland’s Portland magazine, ranked one of the 10 best American university publications. About his new novel, “Mink River,” The Oregonian said, “The greatest gift of ‘Mink River’ is that it provides every reason in the world to see your own village, neighborhood and life in a deeper, more nuanced and connected way.” The author of numerous collections of essays, Doyle's other books include “Saints Passionate & Peculiar,” “Credo,” and “Two Voices,” which won a Christopher Award and a Catholic Press Association Book Award. Doyle’s work has appeared in the Atlantic Monthly, Harper’s, American Scholar, Orion and in the Best American Essays anthologies of 1998, 1999, 2003 and 2005.

    Join faculty, staff and students in honoring V-DAY as part of a worldwide movement to end violence against women and girls. WSU Vancouver’s counseling center and Student Diversity Office are hosting a performance of “A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant, and A Prayer: Writings to End Violence Against Women and Girls.” Performers include a brave group of campus leaders: Erika Abad, John Barber, Jacob Greer, Bola Majekobaje, Audrey Miller, Nicholas Schiller, Dave Stephenson, Shavenor Winter and Nancy Youlden.
